Senior Home Care by Angels is the Canadian arm of the Visiting Angels network, operating here since 2000 under franchisor Visiting Homecare International, Inc. Head office is on Waterloo Street in London, Ontario. Visiting Angels itself was founded in 1998 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

The service is private-duty, non-medical home care for seniors. Offerings include personal care, companion care, respite care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, 24-hour and overnight care, end-of-life care, transitional care and fall-prevention programs. These are supportive, non-clinical services rather than nursing care, and the franchisor is explicit that the model is non-medical. Not all services are available at every location.

Each agency is independently owned and operated as a franchise, and the franchisor does not manage the day-to-day operations of franchised agencies. Territory is offered across Canada, with provincial and territorial coverage from British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador including the three territories.

Support includes a 24-hour extranet of marketing and operational resources, weekly question-and-answer sessions with industry professionals backed by a substantial archive, business coaching, and weekly industry content published to franchisee websites. The royalty is 3.5 percent of monthly gross income, reducing at higher volumes, with a 2.5 percent advertising fee.
